About the Author

Hi, I’m Thomas Farley — a software developer by trade and story teller by passion. I’m also a father of two boys, and the idea for My Guardian Ninja was born when my first son arrived in 2014. To help him feel safe at night, I began telling bedtime stories about fearless ninja guardians who protected children from the monsters and shadows that come out after dark.

Over time, those simple tales evolved into an entire mythology—fueled by the imagination of my kids, the handmade crochet ninja dolls their mom crafted, and a desire to transform childhood fears into epic adventures. What started as a personal way to comfort my children has grown into a vast world of magical warriors, ancient threats, and brave heroes.

When I'm not writing or coding, you’ll find me backpacking in the High Uintas, reffing my coed sports club, leading my kickball team to victory, playing basketball, or diving deep into horror films — I'm a sucker for the Evil Dead franchise. I’ve also dabbled in music, playing in emo, pop punk, and metal bands over the years writing many of the lyrics for our songs. I studied film in college and had a side hustle as a magician. All of that energy, curiosity, and love of the fantastical shapes the stories I tell.

I’m honored to invite you into the world of My Guardian Ninja. May the Guardians watch over you, always.
